The Bugs Bunny Cartoon was presented in 1941 and is part of the Merrie Melodies series by Warner Bros, and produced by Leon Schlesinger in Technicolor.
In this instance a black hunter fills the role usually associated with Elmer Fudd.
Because of the racial stereotypes used against black people throughout the cartoon, it prompted US to withhold the cartoon from syndication within the US in 1968.
‘All This and Rabbit Stew’ has not been published on TV since the 1990’s, and is considered one of the “Censored Eleven” group of Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies shorts.
The copyright owners to the Associated Artists Productions package, failed to renew the copyright in time. So the cartoon is in the ‘public domain’ and does not carry copyright.
